Member Registration
This guide describes the registration experience from the member's perspective. Understanding this flow will help you optimize acquisition and reduce friction in the sign-up process.
Registration Landing Page
The main entry point for new members is your program's registration landing page:
- It is a web page accessible from any device
- It displays your logo, brand colors, and a welcome message
- It includes the registration form and available sign-in methods
Members reach this page through:
- A direct link you share on social media, email, or your website
- A QR code placed in your store, packaging, or advertising materials
- A link in a campaign inviting them to register to participate
Registration Methods
Email and Password
The traditional method:
- The member enters their name and email
- Creates a password
- Accepts the terms and conditions
- Clicks Register
- Receives a confirmation email and verifies their account
OTP (One-Time Password)
A fast method that does not require remembering passwords:
- The member enters their phone number or email
- Receives a temporary 6-digit code via SMS or email
- Enters the code on the verification screen
- Their account is created and verified automatically
OTP registration has the highest conversion rate. By not requiring a password, it significantly reduces abandonment during the sign-up process.
Login with Google
- The member clicks Continue with Google
- The Google authentication window opens
- They select their Google account
- Their IncentIA account is created automatically with their Google data
- They access the portal directly with no additional steps
Login with Apple
- The member clicks Continue with Apple
- The Apple authentication window opens
- They verify with Face ID, Touch ID, or password
- They can choose to share or hide their real email (Apple offers the hidden email option)
- Their account is created automatically
Completing the Profile
After registration, the member can complete their profile with additional information:
- Date of birth: to receive birthday rewards
- Address: needed for physical rewards with shipping
- Phone: if not provided during registration
- Preferences: categories of interest, preferred communication channel
You can incentivize profile completion by awarding extra points for filling in all fields. This improves your data quality and allows you to segment more effectively.
What Happens After Registration
Once registered, the member:
- Accesses their dashboard with their initial balance (if you set up welcome points)
- Can browse the rewards catalog
- Sees the available active campaigns
- Receives a welcome email with information about the program
Configuring Registration Methods
As an administrator, you decide which methods are available:
- Go to Settings > Member Registration
- Enable or disable each method:
- Email and password
- OTP via SMS
- OTP via email
- Apple
- Configure the required and optional form fields
- Customize the welcome email
- Click Save
If you enable SMS registration (OTP), make sure you have an SMS provider configured in Integrations > Messaging. Without a configured provider, SMS messages will not be sent.
