Points Earning Rules
Earning rules define how and when your members earn points in your program. You can create as many rules as you need and combine them to create a rich and motivating experience.
Types of Rules
Purchases (transactions)
The most common rule. Members earn points every time they make a purchase.
To create a purchase rule:
- Go to Programs > select your program > Earning Rules
- Click Create Rule
- Select the Purchase type
- Set the conversion ratio:
- Points per euro spent (for example, 1 point per euro)
- Or fixed points per transaction (for example, 50 points per purchase)
- Optionally, set a minimum amount to activate the rule
- Click Save
Specific Actions
Reward your members for completing specific actions within the program.
Available actions:
- Registration: welcome points for joining the program
- Complete profile: points for filling in all profile details
- Birthday: extra points on their birthday
- Anniversary: points on their program registration anniversary
- Referrals: points when they invite a friend who signs up
To set up an action rule:
- Go to Earning Rules > Create Rule
- Select the Action type
- Choose the specific action from the list
- Define how many points are awarded
- Click Save
Store Check-in
Members earn points by scanning a QR code at your establishment, without needing to make a purchase.
- Go to Earning Rules > Create Rule
- Select the Check-in type
- Define how many points are awarded per check-in
- Optionally, limit the number of check-ins per day or per week
- Click Save
Check-in is an excellent way to reward store visits and drive foot traffic, even when the customer does not make a purchase.
Referrals
Reward members who invite new customers to the program.
- Go to Earning Rules > Create Rule
- Select the Referral type
- Define the points for the referring member (referrer)
- Define the points for the new member (referred), if desired
- Optionally, set a referral limit per member
- Click Save
Multipliers
Multipliers allow you to increase the points awarded in specific situations. They are ideal for temporary campaigns or for rewarding special segments.
Tier Multiplier
Members at higher tiers automatically earn more points:
- Go to Programs > Tiers
- For each tier, define the points multiplier (for example, x1.5 for Silver, x2 for Gold)
- Points are automatically multiplied on each transaction
Campaign Multiplier
During an active campaign, you can set a temporary multiplier:
- When creating a campaign, enable the Points Multiplier option
- Define the multiplier (for example, x2 or x3)
- During the campaign period, all earned points are multiplied
Example: During Black Friday, you activate a x3 multiplier. A customer who normally earns 10 points per purchase will earn 30 points.
Product or Category Multiplier
You can award extra points for specific products or categories:
- Go to Earning Rules > Create Rule
- Select the Purchase type
- In the Filters section, select the products or categories it applies to
- Define a different ratio or multiplier for those products
- Click Save
Limits and Controls
To prevent abuse, you can set limits on rules:
- Maximum points per transaction: limits the points awarded in a single purchase
- Maximum points per day: limits the total points a member can earn in a day
- Frequency: defines how often a rule can trigger (once a day, once a week, etc.)
To configure limits:
- Go to the rule you want to limit
- In the Limits section, configure the desired parameters
- Click Save
Review your limits periodically to make sure they are consistent with your margins and business objectives.
Your members can now earn points. Next, create an attractive rewards catalog so they have motivation to keep participating.
